Major global event for Beijing+20 campaign in Sweden
Date: Thursday, June 12, 2014
On Saturday 14 June 2014, UN Women will host the first in a series of global events as part of the Beijing+20 Campaign, which commemorates the 20-year anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women and the visionary Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. Focused on ensuring the human rights of women, the event will be held in collaboration with the Government of Sweden and the Nordic Forum in Malmö, Sweden.

High-profile panelists from around the world will share experiences and suggest solutions to champion women’s human rights.
Ministers, UN agencies and non-governmental organizations will be brought together to make a strong and united call for action and renewed political commitment for human rights for women. UN Women Executive Director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka will deliver the keynote presentation on the panel, entitled: “Gender Equality and Women’s Human Rights: Unfinished Business.”
